MATCHING GRANT

Empowering Families Toward Independence

WHAT WE DO

Our Matching Grant Program provides personalized, time-limited support that helps participants find and maintain employment, meet essential needs, and become self-reliant — all without relying on public cash assistance.

This innovative program focuses on helping clients become economically self-sufficient within 180 to 240 days of enrollment. Each participant receives individualized case management and access to services that promote long-term success.

WHO WE
SERVE

The program serves ORR-eligible populations, including:

  • Refugees

  • Asylees

  • Cuban and Haitian entrants

  • Certain Amerasians from Vietnam

  • Victims of Severe Forms of Trafficking

  • Special Immigrant Visa Holders (SIVs)

Each participant is guided by a case manager who provides mentorship, employment support, and resources to help them rebuild their lives with confidence and dignity.

SERVICES WE
PROVIDE

Participants receive comprehensive, employment-focused support, including:

  • Case Management: Personalized goal planning and ongoing guidance

  • Employment Services: Job search assistance, interview preparation, and referrals

  • Financial Assistance: Temporary maintenance support to cover essential living needs

Our dedicated staff work hand-in-hand with each participant to ensure they have the tools, training, and confidence to thrive in the workforce.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

To participate, individuals must meet the following guidelines:

  • Enrollment must occur within 90 days of becoming eligible

  • Participants must meet minimum employment requirements as defined by program standards

  • Self-sufficiency must be achieved without accessing public cash assistance

This approach ensures that each client receives adequate, structured support — helping them transition from assistance to full independence within the program period.

OUR IMPACT

Through partnership with ORR, ECDC, and the Florida Department of Children and Families, C.O.C. helps hundreds of families annually find employment, maintain housing, and build a new life filled with opportunity.

"Thanks to C.O.C., I found my first job in the U.S. and can now provide for my family. They believed in me when I didn't believe in myself"
